The Snapdragons love to go on field trips and they visit their adopted grandparents at Wheatland Retirement Center every month. We are also working on independence and self help skills along with POTTY TRAINING! We love to go outside and explore nature. We do art and play with all kinds of toys and manipulatives. We cook, plant seeds and we particularly enjoy singing and dancing. We read stories and do calendar and weather activities each morning. We explore lots of things in our classroom! We are learning sign language and some Spanish, too! We are very tired when it’s naptime each day!

Dear Mom and Dad,

I am so excited about starting at Blacksburg Day Care. The teachers are really nice and I can’t wait to meet all my new friends. My teachers wanted me to remind of a few things I will need. First, I will need lots of diapers so they can keep me clean and dry. If I am potty-trained or starting to be potty-trained you will need to fill out an Individual Potty Plan. This will tell my teachers what we are doing at home so that we can all be consistent. I will also need lots of extra clothes in case I have accidents.

We will need to bring in wipes and tissues at the first of every month. If I am potty-trained we still need to bring wipes because we use them to keep our faces clean and for other things. I need a toothbrush because we brush our teeth every day. I also need a sheet and blanket for my nap mat. A crib sheet fits my mat perfectly. My sheet and blanket will go home every Friday so we can wash them. I need a picture of my family, my house and my car so I can have things that are familiar to me in case I get upset. I may need other things sometimes but my teachers will let you know.

It will be important for you to check my monthly calendar so you know what we are doing each day. I am looking forward to being a Snap Dragon and I know my teachers will take good care of me.
